Delete Account Request
This page belongs to Podtext and explains exactly how users can request account deletion and what data is deleted or retained.
App / Developer
This deletion flow is for Podtext users. If your Google Play listing shows Podtext as the app/developer name, this is the correct deletion-request page to use.
How users can request deletion
Option A: In-app (recommended)
- Open Podtext and sign in.
- Go to Profile and scroll to Danger zone.
- Choose Delete account permanently and complete confirmation prompts.
Option B: Email request
If users cannot access the app, they can email [email protected] with subject “Podtext Account Deletion Request” from the account email address.
Data deleted after account deletion
- Profile data (name, preferences, languages, avatar, phone number if provided).
- Learning progress and activity data (playback progress, streak/account counters).
- Saved content and personalized learning data (likes, notes, user vocabulary, search history).
- Push notification subscriptions and account-linked auth/social connections.
Data that may be retained temporarily
- Operational backup snapshots for security/recovery purposes, automatically rotated.
- Minimal server/security logs needed to prevent abuse and meet legal obligations.
Typical retention for backup/log artifacts is up to 30 days, unless a longer period is legally required.
Timeline
- In-app deletion is processed immediately at the application level.
- Residual backup/log retention expires automatically within the retention window above.
