Delete Account Request

This page belongs to Podtext and explains exactly how users can request account deletion and what data is deleted or retained.

App / Developer

This deletion flow is for Podtext users. If your Google Play listing shows Podtext as the app/developer name, this is the correct deletion-request page to use.

How users can request deletion

Option A: In-app (recommended)

  • Open Podtext and sign in.
  • Go to Profile and scroll to Danger zone.
  • Choose Delete account permanently and complete confirmation prompts.

Option B: Email request

If users cannot access the app, they can email [email protected] with subject “Podtext Account Deletion Request” from the account email address.

Data deleted after account deletion

  • Profile data (name, preferences, languages, avatar, phone number if provided).
  • Learning progress and activity data (playback progress, streak/account counters).
  • Saved content and personalized learning data (likes, notes, user vocabulary, search history).
  • Push notification subscriptions and account-linked auth/social connections.

Data that may be retained temporarily

  • Operational backup snapshots for security/recovery purposes, automatically rotated.
  • Minimal server/security logs needed to prevent abuse and meet legal obligations.

Typical retention for backup/log artifacts is up to 30 days, unless a longer period is legally required.

Timeline

  • In-app deletion is processed immediately at the application level.
  • Residual backup/log retention expires automatically within the retention window above.
