Privacy policy
Last updated: April 2026. We respect your data and keep this policy human-readable.
What we collect
When you register, we store account details you provide (such as email and username), learning preferences, progress (e.g. playback position, liked content), vocabulary you save, and technical logs needed to run the service securely.
How we use data
We use data to operate the product, personalize your experience, improve recommendations, prevent abuse, and comply with law. AI features may send text you interact with to our model providers under strict processing agreements; we do not sell your personal data.
Cookies & local storage
We use strictly necessary cookies for authentication and security. Optional cookies (preferences and analytics) are set only after your consent. This follows EU/German consent standards (GDPR/TTDSG): no optional cookies before opt-in, and you can choose "essential only".
You can withdraw or change consent at any time: use to reopen the cookie panel with your current choices, or clear site cookies and revisit the site. Disabling necessary cookies may prevent login/session features from working.
If you enable analytics, we store aggregated page views (path, day, optional anonymous session id, and referring site hostname when available) in our own database — not with third-party ad trackers — so we can see how the product is used. Each time you save cookie choices, we log that decision (which toggles were on) for compliance and internal statistics.
With analytics enabled, we also load Google Analytics 4 (Google) using the Google tag. Tags run in Consent Mode (denied until you opt in). See Google's privacy policy for how Google processes data when measurement is allowed.
Retention & deletion
We retain data as long as your account is active or as needed for legal obligations. Contact us to request deletion of your account and associated personal data, subject to applicable law.
